General

How do I install?

Please refer to our technical resources for all installation instructions.

Is 22 System UKCA or CE compliant?

Yes, 22 System is CE and UKCA compliant and is verified to conform to BS1363 and IEC 60884. It is also UL-listed, following UL standards 498 and 514D US Utility Patents 7,956,295 and 8,232,482.

Please view our 22 System UL certificate here

Does each 22 System outlet require its own branch circuit?

Yes. The branch circuit wiring that supplies each device consists of a separate cable assembly originating outside the box, or conductors in a raceway, all of which originate outside the box. Other than connecting to a single device, the conductors must not be spliced in the box or continued to another device. No other wiring shall enter the box.

What surfaces/materials can I install the 22 System into?

Any surface; from millwork, stone, tile, glass to plasterboard. We offer two assembly options, 22 System Alternate for use with a variety of finish materials or 22 System Plasterboard.

What colour options do you offer?

We offer white, black, almond and grey. View colour options.

What electrical box should I use?

Standard depth nonmetallic electrical boxes are compatible with 22 System mounting plates. Device boxes must have two screw holes (one at the top and one at the bottom) in the middle plane from the two edges. The spacing between these two screw holes should be 60 mm (+/- 0.5 mm). Please refer to the installation instructions for specifications.

Products

Which device size do I choose for installation into alternate material?

Please see our 22 System Device Depth Selection Guide to determine which option would work best for your individual site needs.

Do you have a RCD outlet?

While we do not offer a residual-current device (RCD), it can be reached by using our regular outlet in conjunction with a residual-current circuit breaker (RCCB) connected to the electric box you would like to use. Please consult with a certified electrician for more information.

Do UK sockets need switches?

BS 1363 sockets are commonly supplied with integral switches as a convenience, but switches are optional and did not form part of BS 1363 until 1967.

Do I need a 22 System Tool?

Yes, a 22 System Tool is required for all 22 System installations to access the device box wiring and is compatible with all device depths. Choose your tool according to the size of your device. Each tool works with all the depth.

Can I combine a line voltage and a low voltage device on the same mounting plate?

You can mix the devices as long as your device box is equipped with a “permanent barrier” or listed divider. The raceway system to access the device box should also be separated. Please refer to your regional code requirements.

What do I use your 22.3.6 Keypad Control for?

This is a minimalist keypad control for use with smart home systems, performing functions as programmed through your home automation system via a CAT5 connection.

Do you have a dimmer?

While we do not offer a dimmer at this time, our 22.3.6 keypad can be programmed to control the dimming function in conjunction with a smart home system.

Do you offer screw or push-in terminals?

We only offer flying leads at the moment.
